The Orkney Wind Generator installed on Burger hill islands in UK in 1987, is the world's most productive wind-powered generator. Its blades are 60 m/197 ft in diameter. It can produce 300 kW of energy which is sufficient to fulfill 20% of the islands' energy needs.
This also demonstrates the potential that wind energy holds especially in coastal areas of the world.
